in the name of god amen the 22.10.1564 I Anne Abbott of Earls Colne in the county of Essex widow do ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner and form following first I bequeath my soul unto almighty god and to his only son our saviour and redeemer jesus christ and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Earls Colne aforesaid next unto the place where my husband is buried item I give unto the use and wealth of the poor there and to be put into the poor folk chest 20d and concerning all the residue of my worldly movable goods and chattels which I have with all my debts I do give and bequeath them freely and wholly unto Alyse Abbott my daughter and she to see my body honestly brought to the earth and my debts paid the which Alys Abbott my daughter I do ordain and make my sole executrix and to perform this my last will in manner and form above written these being witness Barth Churche Roger Goderiche Hen Smythe Thos Polly Hen Abbott and Robt Abbott my two sons
