the 28.10.1578 in the name of god amen I Jn Weale of Earls Colne in the county of Essex yeoman being sick in body but of whole and perfect in mind laud and praise to god do ordain and make my testament containing therein my last will in manner and form following first I commit my soul to god the father that made me to god the son that redeemed me and to god the holy ghost that sanctifieth me and my body to be buried where it shall please the lord imprimis I give to Susan Weale my daughter 5li of lawful money to be given to her at her day of marriage to Grace Weale my daughter so much (5li) to Margt my daughter as much (5li) to Sarah as much (5li) to Ann my daughter as much (5li) to be paid unto them at the day of marriage or else at 21yr of their age which cometh first item I give to Wm Weale my son Hen Weale my son Jn Weale my youngest son 5li apiece to be given unto every one of them at 26yr of age all the rest of my goods my debts paid and my body brought to the ground I give to Joan Weale my wife and Jn Weale my eldest son whom I make my executors to this my will and testament read sealed and delivered in the presence of Humph Track Jn Tagge Wm Adhams clerk with others
