in the name of god amen the 10.12.1581 I Edw Richoll of Bumstede in the county of Essex husbandman sick in body howbeit perfect of remembrance thanks be to god therefore do ordain and make my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first I commit my soul to almighty god and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Bumstede first I give to Thos my son my house and ground at Cowlne and all my movable goods there item I give to my wife all my household at Bumstede item I give to my son and my wife equally to be divided all the corn of the ground with all the rest of my movable goods unbequeathed item I give to my son Thos a diaper tablecloth and a towel which came from Coulne and now in my wife's custody and my son and my wife to be my executors whereunto I Wm Boyton the writer hereof was a witness
