in the name of god amen the 30.9.1662 I Jane Clench of Stortford in the county of Hertford spinster being at this time of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following first I commit my soul into the hands of almighty god my creator and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor hereafter named and for those worldly goods which it hath pleased god to bless me withal I give devise and bequeath as followeth item I give devise and bequeath unto Hezekiah Joselyne son of my brother Jn Joselyne the sum of 100li of good and lawful money of England which is now in the hands of Edw Elliston gent to be paid unto him at his age of 21yr and my mind and will is that if the said Edw Elliston do pay in the said money to my executor before the said Hezekiah Josselin shall come to the said age of 21yr then my said executor shall give security to mr Ralph Joslyn of Earls Colne in the county of Essex for the payment of the said 100li unto the said Hezekiah Joslyn as aforesaid and if the said Hezekiah Joslyn shall happen to die before he shall come to his age of 21yr that then my mind and will is that the said 100li shall go unto Jn Joslyne the son of my said brother Jn Joslyn and to his heirs and assigns forever item I give and bequeath unto Eliz Eldred my cousin 10s to buy her a ring item I give and bequeath unto mr Ralph Josselyne aforesaid 10s to buy him a ring item I give unto Sam Joselyne son of my said brother Jn Josselyne 50s item I give unto my sister Joan (Ellen ) wife of the said Jn Joslyne my brother 20s item I give and bequeath unto my two kinsmen Jn Joslyn and Hezekiah Joslyn sons of the said Jn Joslyn my brother 25li apiece to be paid unto them at their several ages of 21yr item all my household stuff I give and bequeath unto my said two kinsmen Jn and Hezekiah Joslyne sons of the said Jn Joslyn my brother aforesaid to be equally divided between them at their ages of 21yr and in case either of them shall depart this life before he shall come to his age of 21yr that then the survivor shall have and enjoy all such legacies as are hereby given and bequeath unto him so deceasing as aforesaid all the rest of my goods and chattels whatsoever yet unbequeathed my debts be paid and my funeral expenses discharged I wholly give and bequeath unto the said Jn Joslyn my brother whom I do make nominate and ordain sole executor of this my last will and testament revoking all other wills by me formerly made in witness whereof I have caused this my will to be written and have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year before written before the ensealing hereof I do give and bequeath all my wearing apparel both linen and woollen unto Joan (Ellen ) now wife of the said Jn Joslyn my brother Jane Clench sealed signed published and declared by the said Jane Clench to be her very last will and testament in the presence of Ann Green her mark and of Math Gurney scrivener
