in the name of god amen the 29.7.1671 I Dan Harington sen of White Colne in the county of Essex yeoman being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to god therefore and calling unto mind the mortality of my body that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first and principally I do recommend my soul into the hands of god who gave it me and for my body I commend it to the earth to be buried in christian and decent manner and in the parish churchyard of White Colne aforesaid nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of god and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased the almighty to bless me with in this life I give devise bequeath and dispose of in manner and form following first I do give and bequeath to Eliz my well beloved wife all and singular my freehold lands commonly called and known by the several names of Rey Fenn and Broome Fenn and Meadow Fenn with 3r of hopground joining to Broome Fenn containing together by estimation 16a more or less and also two groves or springs of measure 1a2r more or less lying and being in Lamarch in the county aforesaid now in the occupation of the said Dan Harington to be to the said Eliz my wife and to her heirs forever provided always and upon condition hereafter mentioned that is to say the said Eliz her heirs executors or administrators shall well and truly pay pay (sic) or cause to be well and truly paid unto my daughter Hannah Harington the sum of 60li of lawful money of England within six months after her decease and also 70li of like lawful money of England to my daughter Sarah Harington within six months next after her decease but in case either of the said Hannah or Sarah shall happen to depart this life before the said legacy or legacies shall be due and payable then it is my will that 30li of the said legacy of the party or parties so deceased shall be to my son Dan Harington and to his heirs forever and further it is my will that if the said legacies or any part thereof shall be neglected and left unpaid when they shall be due and payable that then it shall be lawful for the said Hannah and Sarah or either of them to seize upon the afore mentioned lands and equally divide them between them and so to hold and enjoy them and to their heirs forever also I do give and bequeath to Eliz my wife all and singular my three parcels of freehold land commonly called and known by the several names of Bakers Cobs Land and Crabtree field containing by estimation 12a more or less lying and being in Mount Bewers and Lamarch in this county to be to the only proper use and behoof of Eliz my said wife and to her heirs forever mark Dan Harington(inserted) item I do give and bequeath to my son Dan Harington all and singular my household goods as they stand in the hall and parlour only the press cupboard excepted and likewise I do give him the said Dan half the brass and pewter throughout the whole house item also I do give more to my well beloved wife all the rest of my household stuff in the house not yet bequeathed and of all the rest of my goods and chattels whatsoever not already bequeathed and of this my last will and testament I make and ordain my well beloved son Dan Harington my full and whole executor and I do hereby disallow revoke annul all and every other former testaments wills legacies bequests and executors by me in any wise heretofore made willed or bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand to the first sheet and to second and last sheet my hand and seal the day month and year above written signed published pronounced and declared by me the said Dan Harington as his last will in the presence of Jn Bagshawe Hen Burdock mark Dan Harington
