in the name of god amen the 21.12.1692 I Peter Paine of Gestingthorpe in the county of Essex yeoman being sick in body but of good and perfect memory thanks be to almighty god do make constitute ordain and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following revoking and annulling by these presents all and every testament and testaments will and wills heretofore by me made and declared either by word or writing and this to be taken only for my last will and testament and none other and first being penitent and sorry for my sins past humbly desiring forgiveness for the same I give and commit my soul unto almighty god my saviour and redeemer and my body to be buried in such place where it shall please my executrix hereafter named to appoint and now for the settling of my temporal estate and such goods and chattels as it hath pleased god to bestow upon me I do order give and dispose the same in manner and form following viz first I will that all those debts and duties as I owe in right or conscience to any person or person s whatsoever shall be well and truly contented and paid or ordained to be paid within convenient time after my decease by my executrix hereafter named item I give and bequeath unto Dan Paine the son of my brother Dan Paine of Halsted deceased the sum of 5li to be paid by my executrix within eight months after my decease item I give unto Isaac Paine the son of Isaac Paine the sum of 10li to be paid by my executrix within eight months after my decease item I give unto Peter Paine the son of Isaac Paine the sum of 10li to be paid by my executrix within eight months after my decease item I give unto Sarah Paine the daughter of Isaac Paine the sum of 5li to be paid by my executrix within eight months after my decease item I give unto Mary Paine the daughter of Isaac Paine the sum of 5li to be paid within eight months after my decease item my will is that if any one or more of the above named Isaac Peter Sarah or Mary Paine shall depart this life before he she or they arrive at his her or their respective age of 21yr that then his her or their legacy before given shall be equally divided betwixt the survivor or survivors of them item my will is that all the abovesaid legacies be paid into the hands of Jn Wade of Halsted grocer to be by him put out of the use of the said legatees and by him to be paid to them with what interest he can conveniently get for the same so soon as he she or any of them arrive at his her or their full age of 21yr lastly I make constitute and ordain Sarah Paine my well beloved wife sole executrix of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written Peter Paine signed sealed and declared to be his last will and testament in the presence of us Jn Goodwin Thos Stanes the mark of Eliz Parmenter
