in the name of god amen I Robt Sandall of Earls Colne in the county of Essex yeoman being infirm in body but of a sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be to god do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following hereby revoking all former wills by me made first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of almighty god my most merciful creator hoping to be saved through the alone merits of jesus christ my most gracious redeemer and my body I desire may be decently buried at the discretion of my executrix herein after named and as to that worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased god to bless me I dispose thereof as followeth imprimis I give and bequeath unto my brother Luke Sandall the sum of 15li to be paid him by my executrix hereinafter named in such manner as is hereinafter expressed that is to say 40s a year to be paid half yearly at midsummer day and xmas day by equal portions until the said sum of 15li shall be paid in case my said brother Luke Sandall shall so long live the first payment to begin and to be made at which of the said days of payment shall first happen after my decease item I give and bequeath unto my kinsman Wm Sandall and unto my kinswoman Eliz the wife of Rich Springett and Mary the wife of Edw Wash the three children of my said brother Luke Sandall the sum of 5li apiece to be paid unto them by my executrix within a year after my decease item all the rest and residue of my goods chattels household stuff cattle corn and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever after my debts legacies and funeral charges and probate of this my will shall be fully satisfied paid and discharged I give and bequeath unto Ann my loving wife and lastly I do nominate and appoint the said Ann my loving wife sole executrix of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said Robt Sandall have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the 28.12.1714 etc. item my will and meaning is that in case my said brother Luke Sandall shall happen to die before all his aforesaid legacy shall be paid then the remainder thereof unpaid shall be paid equally among my said three cousins Wm Sandall Eliz Springett and Mary Wash signed sealed published and declared by the testator in our presence and in his presence attested and subscribed by us mark Ann Jennings mark Ann Hull S Grimston mark Robt Sandall
