in the name of god amen I Math Mole of Earls Colne in the county of Essex farmer being of sound mind make this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say I give and devise to my wife Mary Mole all that my freehold messuage or tenement with the outhouses buildings yards gardens lands rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or therewith usually occupied or enjoyed situate in Church Street in the parish of Coggeshall in the said county of Essex and now unoccupied to have and to hold the said messuage or tenement and premises with appurtenances unto my said wife Mary Mole for and during the term of her natural life without impeachment of or for any waste other than voluntary or wilful waste committed therein which said premises so devised to her for her life together with other provision as is herein after made for her I do hereby declare to be in full satisfaction bar and recompense of and for her dower or thirds which she may have or claim out of all or any my messuages lands tenements or hereditaments and from and immediately after her decease I give and devise the said devised messuage or tenement and premises with the appurtenances to my son Thos Mole and to his heirs and assigns forever also I give and devise to my son Math Mole all that my other freehold messuage or tenement with the outhouses buildings yards gardens lands rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or therewith usually occupied or enjoyed situate likewise in Church Street aforesaid near or adjoining to the said first mentioned messuage and now in the occupation of my said son Math Mole for and during the term of his natural life he keeping the same in good tenantable repair and from and immediately after his decease I give and devise the same to my son Jn Mole and his heirs and assigns forever and whereas there is one undivided yard or garden belonging to the said two messuages which said yard or garden has been heretofore used or occupied in common by the respective tenants of the said two messuages now I do hereby will and direct that the said common yard or garden shall be henceforth equally divided and apportioned between the said two messuages also I give and devise to my son Joseph Mole and to his heirs all that my copyhold messuage or tenement with the outhouses and buildings yards gardens lands rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or therewith usually occupied or enjoyed situate upon a green or place called Broad Green in the parish of Great Tey in the said county of Essex and now occupied by Jn Rayment husbandman to have and to hold the said copyhold messuage or tenement and premises with their appurtenances unto my said son Joseph Mole and to his heirs and assigns forever and whereas there is one other messuage or tenement situate upon Broad Green aforesaid and occupied by Rachel Rayment widow and adjoining to my said copyhold messuage or tenement concerning which said other adjoining messuage or tenement and the appurtenances thereunto belonging I am doubtful whether I have any and what right or title thereto or estate or interest therein now I do hereby give and devise all my estate right title and interest therein and thereto unto my son Matthias Mole and to his heirs and assigns for ever also I give and bequeath to my said son Matthias Mole the sum of 10li to be paid to him when he shall attain his full age of 21yrs also I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Mole the sum of 10li to be paid to her at the expiration of six calendar months next after my decease and as to and concerning the residue of all my ready money debts due to me farming stock whatsoever goods chattels and personal estate of whatever nature kind or quality and wheresoever being which shall remain after my funeral expenses just debts legacies and charges of the probate and execution of this my will shall have been paid and satisfied I give and bequeath the use of the said residue to my said wife Mary Mole for and during the term of her natural life and from and immediately after her decease I give and bequeath the said residue to my said four children Jn Mole Matthias Mole Thos Mole and Mary Mole to be equally divided among them share and share alike and my will it that as soon as conveniently can be after my decease and inventory and appraisement be made of the said residue by two indifferent persons and that my said wife Mary Mole shall thereupon duly make and execute one bond or obligation wherein and whereby she shall become duly bound to them the said Jn Mole Matthias Mole Thos Mole and Mary Mole to leave and give to them in equal shares by her last will in writing so much money or effects as shall be clearly and fully equal in value to the said residue so appraised as aforesaid in performance of my bequest in that behalf herein made and shall thereupon deliver the said bond into the hands of Thos Sewell of Earls Colne aforesaid esquire to be by him safely kept for the use of them the said Jn Mole Matthias Mole Thos Mole and Mary Mole and if my said wife shall hereafter marry a second husband my will is that her intended husband before such marriage shall be solemnised shall duly make and execute one bond or obligation wherein and whereby he shall become duly bound to the said Jn Mole Matthias Mole Thos Mole and Mary Mole or such person or persons as shall lawfully represent them or any of them being then dead to pay to them in equal shares immediately after the decease of his said intended wife such sums of money as shall together amount or be equal to the value of the said residue so appraised as aforesaid such payment to be made in performance or my said bequest in that behalf herein made and in satisfaction and discharge of my said wife's said bond and shall deliver such his bond into the hands of Thos Sewell or his lawful representative for the purpose aforesaid and I do hereby constitute and appoint her my said wife Mary Mole sole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me heretofore made and declaring this to be my last will in witness whereof I the said Math Mole the testator to this my said last will and testament contained in two sheets of paper set my hand and seal that is to say my hand to the first sheet and my hand and seal to this last sheet and also my seal to the label by which they are fastened together this 10.11.1770 Math Mole signed sealed published and declared by the said Math Mole the testator for his last will and testament contained in two sheets of paper in
