in the name of god amen I Jn Dugard of Earls Colne in the county of Essex gardener being of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first I give and devise unto my loving wife Catherine Berry Dugard all that my freehold messuage tenement and blacksmith's shop with all the yards gardens and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid and now in the occupation of myself and Wm May blacksmith to have and to hold to my said wife Catherine Berry Dugard her heirs and assigns absolutely and forever also all my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind and quality soever the same may be (after payment of all my just debts funeral expenses and probate of this my will) I give and bequeath unto my said wife Catherine Berry Dugard her executors administrators and assigns and for her and their use and benefit absolutely and I do hereby constitute and appoint my said wife Catherine Berry Dugard sole executrix of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said Jn Dugard have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the 4.10.1798 Jn Dugard signed sealed published and declared by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses M.
