in the name of god amen I Wm May of the parish of Earls Colne in the county of Essex blacksmith being sound in mind memory and understanding but weak in body do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first I give devise and bequeath unto my loving wife all those my copyhold premises with the blacksmiths shop thereon erected together with the yards gardens and appurtenances thereto belonging situate and being in Earls Colne aforesaid and wherein I now do dwell and which I hold by copy of court roll of the manor of Colne Priory to hold to her her heirs and assigns absolutely and for ever all the rest and residue of my estate real and personal and of what nature kind or quality the same may be which I may be possessed of at the time of my decease after payment of my just debts funeral expenses and probate of this my last will and testament I give and bequeath unto my loving wife to and for her own use absolutely and for ever and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint mr Wm Tawell of Earls Colne aforesaid draper executor and my said wife executrix of this my last will and testament and hereby revoking all former will or wills by me at any time heretofore made do declare this to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21.10.1824 mark Wm May signed sealed published and declared by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses Isaac Joslin Watson Wm Winterflood Warner
