at the general quarter sessions of the peace of the lord king William the third held for the county of Essex at Chelmsford in the same county tuesday after the feast of epiphany namely 10.1.10Wm3 whereas by an order under the hands and seals of Geo Gent and Jn Nevile esquires two of his majesty's justices of the peace of this county one being of the quorum made for removing Jn Brittain and Eliz his wife from the parish of Great Maplestead to the parish of Earls Colne in this county now upon the appeal of the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the said parish of Earls Colne from the order of the said two justices at this present quarter sessions it was alleged by counsels on behalf of the said parish of Maplested that they wanted some material witnesses it is therefore ordered by this court that the said appeal should be continued till the next quarter sessions to be held for this county costs to be paid by the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of Maplested to the churchwardens and overseers of Earls Colne if the said appeal should go against them Reynolds clerk of the peace
