Essex to the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the parish of Earls Colne and the constable of the same whereas complaint hath been this day made unto us two of her majesty's justices of the peace for this county one being of the quorum by the overseers of the poor of the said parish of Earls Colne that Jn Sadd junior with his wife and family is lately come into your said parish (Earls Colne) endeavouring to settle himself there as an inhabitant thereof contrary to the statute in that case made and provided and is likely to become chargeable to the said parish if not speedily removed and whereas it appeareth upon the examination of the said Jn Sadd junior upon his oath that he was bound apprentice to Thos Betts senior carpenter of Trinity parish in Colchester for seven years and accordingly served with him two years and better and then Thos Betts died and that he has not gained other settlement since we do therefore adjudge the said parish of Trinitye in Colchester to be the place of his last legal settlement these are therefore in her majesty's name to charge and command you some or one of you immediately remove and convey the said Jn Sadd junior with his wife and family from your said parish of Earls Colne unto the said parish of Trinitye in Colchester in the said county and there deliver them to the churchwardens and guardians for the poor of the said parish of Trinity in Colchester aforesaid together with this precept or a true copy thereof who are hereby required to receive and provide for them according to law until they shall otherwise be discharged thereof according to law hereof fail not at your perils given under our hands and seals this 18.5.1711 Jn Sparrow Jn Cressener
