Soul effigies carved of wood and put up near the place of funeral: the effigies are put up in pairs (one representing the deceased and the other a companion), and are accompanied by grave goods, the head trophies (or representations of them) captured by deceased during his lifetime and offerings of food and beer for the deceased's use in the next world.
