text: Eastern Angami. Grave figures. Now very scarce - since put up only on the graves of successful head-hunters. The intention is absolutely representational - the figure is dressed in warrior's clothes and is meant to be him. That it does not represent him literally is due to the art tradition. Example photographed at Chezubama - see diary - great dignity.
text: In a 5 mile radius of Chezubama no other cases known. Nerhema (Northern Angamis) contains 3 figures.
