text: E. Angami. Losami. Worship of the gate every July - by the Thevo - village priest - offers a large jungle leaf (nothing else) - prayer that no illness may afflict the village. Each gate is in 2 sections and has rows of little heads only - one gate 23 heads - another 53 heads - a tally of the warriors in each Khel who had taken heads ( not of the total number of heads taken by the Khel) - no mithan heads - these would have been permissible only if a Khel had captured or killed an enemy mithan - since no Khel had ever done this, genna to put mithan horns on the gate.
