text: E. Angami. Masolomi. No gates at all - said 'since headtaking stopped, gates are not needed'. The entrances to the village are just gaping holes.
text: E. Angami. Yesopomi (Anholomi). Gates but all quite plain - the gate necessary because the village welfare depends on the gate spirit - since head-taking stopped, carvings not needed - therefore a plain gate - Dec.-Jan. - annual worship of the gate - a pig is sacrificed.
