text: E. Angami. Chizema. All the gates except one were shot up in the Jap bombardment. They are now waiting until they have made all the village houses and then they will do the gates - 'it would have been better if we had not waited so long' - when they do them they will do all the carvings - 6 Khels 8 gates - the number of mithan on a gate is a rough index to enemy mithan killed - if one killed, one is carved - if more than one, 2 are carved - if a great number caught and killed, 3 are carved - genna to carve women's breasts on the gate.
