text: Copy of Memo. no. 191C dt. 5/12/43 from the Deputy Commissioner, Naga Hills to the Advisor to the Governor of Assam, Shillong: I enclose copy of report received from S.D.O. Mokokchung. All these villages are in the area of the Pangsha gap, the last three being to the East of the Patkoi. The control area must I think now be extended to the Patkoi Range everywhere. There are various posts dotted about and we must be in a position to enforce orders.
text: Ponyu village rules the whole area between the Patkoi Range and the Chindwin River. Even if we wanted to stop head hunting I don't see how we can do so at present. The small number of troops available area for the protection of the U.S.A.A.F. posts and cannot be used for other purposes.
