text: 18th May '47. To Melore - 19 miles (6-30 A.M. - 3 P.M.) Near the Tizu the climate was like that of the Sahara Desert rather than Assam. It was so hot that the porters got their feet burnt and the Tizu is much lower than it was a month ago.
