text: 3rd June '47. By jeep to 9th mile bridge - 54 miles (9 A.M. to 4 P.M.) which had been washed away. Changed jeeps. Then to Kohima. The Road is not at all bad considering the heavy rain. But a few permanent coolies for maintenance are needed.
