The origin of the buffalo head on the log drum. |

'In days long ago, a man went to take an enemy head. He could not get one. As he returned, he saw a buffalo. He killed it. He took its head but he could not get it home. He reached his village. He told his wife that he had cut the head. But his wife said 'I have not seen it'. He told the villagers but they too said 'We have not seen it'. Then he said 'I will take an oath that I can carve it on the drum'. So he carved a buffalo's head on the drum's end. Since then some drums have heads like buffaloes'. |
