I noticed that the Rengma dress was also different from that of other tribes. Most of the men wear the usual apron but have white cloths with black stripes and touches of scarlet along the edges. Their heads are black, white, orange and scarlet. Most of the girls have their smooth hair parted in the middle and hanging loose, but the older women have a bun on the nape of the neck. They wear the same body-cloths as the men, but some have dark blue cloths sewn with cowries in lines and patterns. They wear the same orange beads and the black, white, orange and scarlet mingle brightly in the village. |
