text: Yesterday the Assamese doctor from Ghukiya came to see us, a keen and energetic youth. He has been working for three years and has had experience as a house surgeon before plunging into the Naga Hills. He is learning to speak Sema, he plays tenniquoit, badminton and football with the schoolboys, he tours the village regularly looking for cases, and on Sundays he gives lectures on hygiene. If every Assamese were of his type, there would quickly be an end to the Naga's hatred of the plainsman.
