As we tramped back to Mokokchung, the rain streamed down. It was a desolate landscape - the fields empty and the villagers huddled and silent. No birds stirred in the trees and apart from the great clouds slowly rolling by, there was no movement. We ate our lunch crouched in an empty grass hut by the roadside and then hurried on, thankful to find tea and a fire ready in our bungalow.
