text: | The day has finished with fresh excitement - the postal runners threaten a strike. The post in Mokokchung is dependent on 48 runners. 24 function each week; 12 on the 'up' journey and 12 on the 'down'. It seems that the runners have not received the dearness allowance or the 'compensation' which the Assamese postal workers are getting and all representations to the Postal authorities have met with silence. |
