text: It is clear that this tour cannot set the new subdivision in motion. But the presence of the S.D.O. with an escort in the 'control area' may show the more truculent Nagas that government still exists and it may help to control head-taking for some time to come. At a time like this it is all important (124) to show that administration is continuing. For me it means the excitement of crossing the frontier into the Forbidden Land and being the first European woman to enter the unadministered territory.
