Mokokchung 16/7/1936. It was also raining this morning when we started off and after two hours of hiking there was not a dry spot on my shoes. I then tried to ride for a while but gave that up quite soon because my pony continued to slide on the slippery clay soil, but we did make good headway as there was no village on the way. The trail goes through deep forest almost the entire time. Fortunately the path was well cleared so that we did not come into contact with the numerous leeches which inhabit the jungle here. |
