Quickly I changed my clothes, ate my tiffin and just in case loaded my five shooter revolver, not a weapon to encounter a tiger with, but better than nothing at all. Then I went through the village where the last men were arming themselves with spears and shields and went down to the jungle. On the way I passed a lot of young men who were continuously felling bamboo poles and carrying them down in order to build the fence. (114) There was a lot of commotion around the fenced-in area. |
