text: At the lower edge where a small stream flowed into a ditch, a high bamboo wall had been built, and to the left and right of it a bamboo fence went up the hill like a funnel
text: The men started to drive from above with shrill screams. They hacked away with their daos at the jungle and even at smaller trees. (115) I had climbed onto the bamboo wall from where I had a good vision for camera and revolver and this is where the tiger had to come. I only hoped that the swaying structure would not collapse at an inopportune moment. It did not collapse but neither did the tiger come. Apparently he had found security in time. A great deal of bamboo and many hours of work in the heat of the day had been wasted, but the people still remained cheerful. They seemed to see the whole affair a rather funny event. Tout de bruit pour une omelette I thought, and tired and sweaty I returned to the bungalow. The first half of the series 'Tiger Hunt' had been shot (film 19.) where would I get the rest? Towards evening I went through the village with my English speaking guide and I used the slanted evening light to take some photographs (film 19)
