text: I tried again in the afternoon to get a clearer idea about the clan system with the help of Yongang and Chinyang. This is how it appears to me now. There are three classes in Wakching of different social status, first Ang-yong-ba, the great Ang people (died out), second Ang-ha-ba, the small Ang people, third Bin, the common people. Every clan belongs to one of these classes and the common people may not eat with the Ang people. The clans 'Hu' are divided between the five morungs as follows, Ang-ban: first Ang-nok-phong (Ang-yong-ba class), second Nia-mei-hu (Ang-ha-ba class), third Nokha-nok-phong (Ang-ha-ba class), fourth Yin-yong-hu (Bin class). The Ang of this morung is Chin-kok, the Great Ang of all of Wakching. (143) Au-kheang: first Bhenba (Bin), second Neang-ba (Bin), third Yanahu (Bin), fourth Khok-nok-hu (Bin), fifth Sha-yang-hu (Bin). Apparently this morung has no Ang. The-phong: first Yanahu (Bin), second Ma-ta-hu (Bin), third Sha-yong-hu (Bin), fourth Wem-nok-hu (Bin), fifth Khok-nok-hu (Bin). The Ang of this morung is Man-ang from the Matahu clan. Ba-la-bang: first Shung-ta-hu (Ang-ha-ba), second Leu-nok (Bin), third Cho-nok (Bin), fourth Mai-bang-hu (Bin). The Ang is Yong-met of the Shungtahu. However the Shungtahu clan is not considered a proper Ang clan as everyone in the village is allowed to eat with them. (144) Balang: first Ang-nok-phong (Ang-yang-ba), second Phong-moi-hu (Ang-ha-ba), third Yenyong-hu (Bin), fourth Mata-hu (Bin), fifth Shang-phong-hu (Bin). The Ang is Dzam-ang from the Phong-moi-hu.
