(166) Wakching 6/8/1936. When I went together with Dzeam-ang to the village this morning I heard that this morning an old man of the The-phong morung called Shou-bha had died. However he had already been buried outside the village at the crack of dawn because he had died of a bad illness, that is of leprosy. For that reason they also had not struck the drum of the morung and I was not allowed to see the grave. Only a few old men were allowed to come near him. I did not insist on it as I did not expect anything unusual. |
