the feast for the ceremonial start of rice harvest |

In a few days on the second day after the full moon the Ou-nie-bu starts, the feast for the ceremonial beginning of the rice harvest. Strangely enough Chinyang told me today that they were not quite sure on which day the full moon was as they hadn't seen the moon for several days due to the bad weather. Evidently they have not counted the days since the new moon. No mithans and buffalo will be sacrificed for this Ou-nie-bu. That is because there were none this year in Chi and Lengha and it would be too much effort to drive mithan from Mon in this weather over the poor, soggy trails. |
