text: The fight between the young people of Bala and The-phong had the following reason. The The-phong boys had built a girls' morung for the Bala girls where they also visited them occasionally and sang with them. One day they found there to their annoyance two Ang-ban boys. They confronted the girls and protested how they could receive Ang-ban visitors in a house built by them and they demanded a fine. (3) The girls refused. So one night the The-phong boys came to the house of the girls and with their daos they cut down all the bamboo beds on which the girls were sleeping and as they tumbled down many acquired bruises. Now the girls demanded a fine which however the boys only want to give when they have received satisfaction for the insult received through the visit of the Ang-ban boys.
