This fight also disrupted the entire ceremony of the Ou-nie-bu. Now the Bala girls had no one they could give their millet bread to and sing with at night. The The-phong girls were in a similar situation although some Ang-ban boys came to comfort them, and finally neither Bala nor The-phong boys had any of the popular millet breads unless their sisters gave them some, which of course has not quite the same attraction. Balang and Au-kheang could not fill the gap as they had fixed partners and could not make new arrangements because of the disagreements of other morungs. |
