text: Here is a roof that leaks and has to be repaired with a few bundles of palm leaves, there is a rice granary which needs a new wall or one of the huge baskets has become weak and needs to be replaced. In every morung and on all platforms the men now sit and weave great big baskets or work on the mats which serve as floors and walls for the granaries. Basket weaving is men's work and even the dainty little rings of red and yellow rattan strips which the girls like to wear in their ears are made by young men and are given to their beauties at the tender encounters in the rice granary.
