Tanhai has the tradition of originating in the plains and migrating along the Dikhu. First the Tanhai people lived in Chinlong, then they founded a village about a mile away from Tanhai in the direction of Punkhung, and finally Tanhai itself. The village founder was a man from the Riem-rhem clan and first the Yanhai morung was built which still it the morung of the Riem-rhem clan. Although it is said that the Ang clan arrived "on the same day" as the founder, it still is indicative that the Ang clan is in the new morung. |
