Before the climb to the village the Ang and the second gaonbura received me (the Ang is also a gaonbura). They had set up a seat under a palm leaf roof. I was given madhu and bananas. Then together we climbed the steep trail leading across rocky steps up to the village. We enter it at the uppermost morung which stands by itself on a hill and from which stone steps again lead down to the houses of the village. Apparently the village once was much bigger and where now grass and bushes thrive once houses stood and came closer to the morung. |
