The song was of the same monotonous kind as in Wakching although the singers added a bit more vocal emphasis to it. Most of the time only three or four were singing as they sat next to each other on one of the machans although six girls were present. Soon some Long-dza-dze boys came too, obviously the girls' lovers and they behaved less formally than the Wakching boys had done at the singing party. They sat down between the girls apparently each next to his chosen one and when one got up and one of the girls jokingly took his place a real scuffle broke out from which finally the young man emerged victoriously. (96) Yet the behaviour of the young people was quite restrained although the jokes went very far. |
