text: The path now goes steeply down, partly in steps, past the corpse platforms which are of the normal type. To the left is a fenced-in bamboo grove, to the right, tall forest. But soon we come to the fields which are separated from the forest by a hurdle. Some wooden steps lead across the hurdle. In the fields the rice is still standing in some places. Everywhere some tall trees have been left standing in big intervals. The field huts are bigger than in Wakching and with their low roofs they are more like the village houses.
