medicine and little crime or quarrels |
text: |
Tsampio has been unwell for a few days. He seems to have bladder problems and I don't know what to do about it. The people of the village still come for medicine, especially for quinine. Oting seems to have very little crime. Chingai does not know the punishment for either murder or arson as neither has happened as far as people can think back. There is a penalty for theft. The amount is decided by a council of the Ang clan. In case of border disagreements on the fields the young Ang people go to the place in question and make a decision which usually divides the disputed area right down the middle and the decision is final, but such quarrels apparently happen (115) much less frequently than is the case, for instance, with the Angami. |
