text: My coolies went first and I followed with Nlamo and Chingai. First the trail went steeply down until we reached the wide wooded river valley which lies between Oting and Wangla. A big untrimmed tree trunk served as a bridge across the first river which we had to cross. (119) Behind the river there was a big clearing where huge trees, some dead, some green, still stretched their branches towards the sky. The rice which had been planted in between was already harvested, and the big taro leaves gave the fields a green colour.
