Now the path wound itself through thick jungle (120), led across many streams with little bridges, and finally it went rather steeply uphill. While walking I asked Chingai about all sorts of tales. The most remarkable one is the one about the women's village. It is called [] and is supposed to be somewhere south-east. In that village the women kill and eat all boys and only allow the girls to grow up. Occasionally they have intercourse with men of other villages but not a single man lives in their own village. They keep a lot of buffalo and whenever enemies come close they drive these dangerous animals towards them. |
