During the walk I asked my two friends about animal stories. One of them tells about the time when man and tiger were still friends. Once they were hunting together and they got a wild pig. The man took over the cooking (166) of meat and bones and while he made his own part nice and savory he added bitter herbs to the tiger's portion. While he turned away briefly the tiger tried a piece of the man's portion and realized that he had been tricked so the tiger confronted the man but the man ran away and hid in a hole in the ground. Only the end of his rattan belt stuck out. The tiger wanted to pull him out with that but it only unravelled itself and no matter how much the tiger pulled the rattan was endless and finally the tiger gave up. But from this day on man and tiger are enemies. |
