Castles and Ashfield came up to Wakching from Borjan for this Sunday and the night to Monday. Although I didn't feel too well already in the morning I went to Shankok's house as he is holding a ceremony today for his rich harvest and he wanted to slaughter a cow for that. The feast however was moved to the next day as an old man from the Oukheang morung had died. Towards noon my guests arrived and all went well until towards evening I started to shiver more and more and soon I had a temperature of 38o celsius. None of us doubted that it was malaria. After supper the fever slightly receded and still had a pleasant evening. I had taken two atebrin tablets. |
