text: In the house of a gaonbura I later had a lot of fun with the two Konyak dobashis. They were talking with the Aos about their different customs, especially concerning love and married life and there was much laughing. When I later pointed out a particularly pretty girl to Chingai he said she was not to his taste as her lips were not red. Indeed she could hardly compete with the Konyak girls who's mouths look as though they wore lipstick because of the frequent betel chewing.
