text: The situation in our field of operation is extremely confused as every village is in feud with a whole group of others. Pangsha supposedly a two day march east of Chingmei (it is not on the map) only recently, together with other villages, completely destroyed Saochu, took 150 heads and captured several slaves. Now they are supposed to have about a dozen. Fighting cannot be avoided.
