text: It was interesting to observe that the Chingmei men and especially Chingmak (235) and the people of Noklak against who they are now leading a war all greeted each other as old friends and soon they were involved in a lively and cheerful conversation. The normal feuds are obviously accompanied by personal animosities. There were some men from Pangsha in Noklak who apparently wanted to discover our intentions but they did not come to our camp. It is good that we could avoid a fight with Noklak as there is no grievance with this village in respect of the Saochu affair.
