text: The trail leads from Noklak along a slope on open ground towards the N.E. In front of us rises the Patkoi Range with steep jagged peaks which I estimate to be at least 10,000 feet high. They are the border between Assam and Burma and behind them appear the single mountains of another ridge. (237) It is a spectacular landscape which spreads out peacefully in the light of the early morning, full of grand beauty
