Pangsha sent conditions for peace |
text: |
Mills gave them the following message for Pangsha. Pangsha should in future avoid attacking any of the villages allied with us such as Chingmei, Yimpang and Noklak or any of the small western villages. In any case the Government was still ready to make peace now but demanded the handing over of the slave girl who supposedly now is in Burma. He would guarantee the envoy's journey to Chingmei and back and he would be willing to meet them the day after tomorrow in Chingmei. If however Pangsha continued its policy of attacks and slave hunts there would still be enough bullets in the rifles of the Government. Himbu promised to take this message to Pangsha. |
