This morning we heard some more details about Pangsha's losses during yesterday's fighting. Under the influence of some cups of madhu the Himbu men apparently became more talkative during the night and they told their hosts in Noklak that yesterday five Pangsha warriors were killed immediately by our shots. Among them was Sangting, one of the two main heroes of Pangsha, as well as the man who had planned the attack on Kejok. The loss of these two leaders must have shaken Pangsha more than if a greater number of less important men had died and it probably added considerably to stopping the attack at the right moment. |
